Italians Volcano Heat use to play ‘rock’ in the vein of old late 70′s cut , just guitar vocals drums and bass … very simple and straight sound leaded by Luca Picchetti guitarist and singer of Zond , finally here is the first full length ‘Vive le Rock!’ are very close to New York hard rock scene (past and present ) name a few like The Stooges, Lou Reed, and the Get Hip Label bands The Lat Vegas. ’Dead Leaves getting to the point from the first tune, very fuzzy and rhythmic close to the last Swedish Sewergrooves and maybe Glucifer, ‘Shake Your Head’ are more rhythm and beat with a taste of 80′s garage legends ‘The Yard Trauma’ and White Rays White Heat could say that have a good recycled riff.

Just like their name, the Italian combo is good at raising the temperature. And to do that, Volcano Heat doesn’t hesitate to tap into the directory of the Stooges (“Dead Leaves”), The White Stripes (“These Days”) and even Queens of the Stone Age (“Today”). “Vive le Rock!” is their debut album and follows two EPs released in 2008 and 2009 respectively. The excellent production improves the power of their songs, competing with the best of worldwide rock acts, despite an approach not very original but damn melodic and energetic!

Nerds Attack, VOLCANO HEAT [Vive Le Rock!-Satellite/Go Down Records 2011]
Ancora Veneto, ancora rock and roll di qualità. ‘Vive le rock!’ Titolo semplice come il genere proposto: rock and roll molto maschio, sudato, che sa di adipe sulle cinghie delle chitarre e ritmi che macinano plettrate. Che la band sappia suonare lo si nota subito ma che la band sappia scriver grandi song lo capisci quando parte ‘White Rays, White Heat’ pezzo killer che vi farà distogliere dai vostri pensieri per risentirla almeno altre due/tre volte di fila. Il meglio di molto r’n’r di questi ultimi anni è racchiuso in questo brano. La solita cover di ‘Come Together’ in versione quasi QOTSA non mi convince, seppur abbia un bel tiro anch’essa, sarà che non se ne può più di ‘Come Together’ rifatta da chiunque in qualunque modo. Scorre come una birra il resto del disco, lascivo e sexy, certo derivativo, ma altri brani come ‘Today’, l’inno un po’ bovaro di ‘Restless’ e ‘Secrets’ (un bel garage blues tirato in faccia) cementano il disco d’esordio di una band dal sicuro avvenire.

Volcano Heat est une formation transalpine née en 2007. A Venise. Un trio réunissant Luca Pichetti (voix et guitare), Andrea Vianello (batterie) et Silvano ‘Gene’ Zamarin (basse). A l’instar de leur patronyme, le combo italien est doué pour faire monter la température. Et pour y parvenir, il n’hésite pas à puiser dans le répertoire des Stooges (« Dead Leaves »), des White Stripes (« These Days ») et même de Queens of the Stone Age (« Today »). « Vive le Rock ! » constitue leur premier album et fait suite à deux Eps sortis respectivement en 2008 et 2009. L’excellente production de leur elpee met bien exergue la puissance de leurs compos. De quoi rivaliser avec les meilleures formations de rock, à travers le monde, malgré un répertoire pas très original mais sacrément mélodique et énergique !

With their first long player Volcano Heat set the bar high with a quick jolt of electricity through songs like the foot-stomping “These Days”, the rattling “Shake Your Head” and the blazing fuzz monster “Restless”. They even tackle a woolly version of Beatles classic “Come Together” and actually leave their own stamp on it using a thick bass riff and augmented vocals. Not the easiest thing to do as a three-piece but their confidence and production denotes a band that’s not easily intimidated.

“Vive Le Rock! Vive l’Italie!” Una piccola lode in tinta francese per introdurre i Made In Italy Volcano Heat e per la buona regola del 3, numero perfetto in ogni occasione, meglio non potevo cominciare per rendere doveroso omaggio al chitarrista e frontman Luca Picchetti, al bassista Gene e al batterista Andrea Vianello che dal 2007 suonano un rock puro, diretto, essenziale, e non solo. Inserendo la quinta sono riusciti a pubblicare due EP: “And The Light Goes Out” nel 2008 e il live “Surrender/Live At Blocco A” l’anno successivo. Toccando il 2011 la band ha cominciato a comporre i brani del presente e già citato debut album “Vive Le Rock!”, uscito per la Go Down Records, attraverso un rock arricchito di atmosfere garage per dare allo stesso un tocco di grezza eleganza, detto così può sembrare contraddittorio, ma vi assicuro che il trio di Mestre suona che è una bellezza omaggiando un ottimo mix tra Stooges, Kinks, White Stripes, Black Sabbath e un pizzico di scena punk newyorchese.
